NASCAR Driver Aric Almirola Celebrates Independence Day With Visit to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort

Anyone here a fan of NASCAR? I know I am. Who is your favorite driver?

NASCAR driver Aric Almirola typically enjoys life in the fast lane. However, the two-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series winner and Florida native slowed down this week to spend some much beloved family time at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.

With his wife and two young children by his side, Almirola took in the sights and sounds of the park’s newest expansion, THE LEGO® MOVIE™ WORLD. The family took to the skies on their triple decker couch while riding THE LEGO MOVIE: Masters of Flight, bounced in delight on Unikitty’s Disco Drop, climbed to the top of Benny’s Playship and finished with a family portrait taken directly from inside Emmet’s Super Suite.

“The new LEGO MOVIE WORLD was incredible. It makes you feel like you’re in the movie,” said Almirola. “That was one of my personal favorites and the kids loved it too.”

This weekend Almirola will be racing in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway against many of the world’s best drivers. And while the winning driver will live in triumph, Almirola will forever have the glory of placing ‘minilanders’ alongside his family inside the Daytona Speedway model.

“My family and I had a blast at LEGOLAND this Fourth of July weekend,” said Almirola. “We even got to put our own LEGO characters in their Daytona International Speedway display. How cool is that?”

In a long racing season filled with immense travel, drivers and their families spend much of their time on the road. However, Almirola is steadfast in his commitment to spending as much time as possible with his family away from the race track.

“It was great to know that the theme park was built for kids, the rides and attractions were exactly what they wanted. As busy of a life we live, we always try to squeeze in some family time and LEGOLAND Florida Resort was a great choice.”
